#2324 Old R. S. Prussia Style Sugar

Unmarked.  This may actually be R. S. Prussia. but can't say for certain in the absence of a mark.  Beautiful floral decorations in pinks, blues, whites, yellows.  Wear of gold on handle and around top rim of neck -- a definite sign of age -- no doubt it is old.

SOLD#3930 Bavarian Coffee/Tea Set, Waldershof, GermanySOLD

Very pretty and decorative little coffee/tea set that appears to be from the Frank Neukirchner Porcelain Works of Waldershof, Bavaria, Germany, in business until 1916-1977.  We assume this set is from their later years of c.1960's-70's, though we can't find these exact marks for that factory, so we can't 100% guarantee its origin.  We are, therefore, offering it as a decorative set only and at a good price. regardless of factory origin.  The set consists of the coffee/teapot, sugar and creamer, and six teacups and saucers.  It is in excellent condition.  Heavy gold decoration as can be seen in the pictures.  There is some wear of the decoration on the inner rims of the saucers (see saucer picture below).

Coffee/Teapot is 5 5/8" tall to neck rim; sugar bowl is 2 3/8" tall to neck rim; creamer is 3" tall to highest part of spout; teacups are 1 3/4" tall x 2 7/8" diameter at top opening; saucers are 4 1/2" diameter.

SOLD #2431 Old R. S. Prussia Style Cups SOLD

Unmarked.  We believe these are unmarked R. S. Prussia and very old.  Pretty transfer roses on a light bluish and white background.  Notice the pretty shape of both cup and saucer.  Some slight loss of gold around edges.  One saucer has a very small chip on the underside of the rim -- does not show from the top.  Otherwise, these appear to be in excellent condition.  No other chips, cracks, or crazing.

SOLD #2409 German Coffee Set or Tea Set SOLD

Some might even call it a chocolate set.  UnmarkedThe family who owned this set traveled extensively in Germany in the 1970's and their heirs believed they purchased it during that time.  It gives the appearance of being hand painted, but it is actually decorated with very good transfers and is very beautiful.  Even the little saucers are decorated with the romantic figural scenes.  Notice the heavy gold trim on the handles, spouts, rims and lids.  The pot is 6 1/2" to rim and 7 1/2" to top of finial on lid.  Sugar bowl is 2 3/16" tall to rim and 3 1/2" tall to top of finial on lid.  Creamer is 3 1/" tall.  Each demicup is 2 1/2" tall x 1 7/8" diameter across top opening.  Each saucer is 4 1/8" diameter.

German Coffee Set

The complete set consists of one pot, one sugar, one creamer, and six demicups and saucers.

The set is in perfect condition except for a very minor professional repair on the rim of the sugar bowl which is not visible to the normal eye.

SOLD #2749 Old German Chocolate Cup, 1918-1922 SOLD

Thanks to helpful viewer, Mari, this mark has been identified as that of Hemann Ohme Porcelain Factory, known for producing products known as Old Ivory.  Kovel's Dictionary of Marks, page 16, further states this factory was in business c.1882-1930 in Niedersalzbrunn, Silesia, Germany, (now called Szczwienko, Poland).   This mark is almost worn off.  Pattern name appears to be Carmen.  Also according to Kovel's Newsletter of May 2007, this mark was used 1918-1922.   Gold trim around rims, but is somewhat worn -- a good sign of its age.  Good condition otherwise.    A pretty little old treasure at a good price.

SOLD#2756 Old German Teapot SmallSOLD

A cute little teapot decorated with large transfer red roses on the front side only.  Backside was left plain, which infers to me that it was meant for display only, with that undecorated side intended to be unseen against the wall of a display cabinet.  Rim of neck and spout, as well as the lid finial, all have traces of what was once gold trim that is now mostly worn off -- a good sign of OLD age.   Good condition.  No chips, cracks, or crazing -- just the wear of the gold.  A great old piece at a good price!!!

Old German Teapot

3 1/8" tall to rim and 4 1/4" to top of lid finial; 6 1/2" wide from outer tips of spout and handle.

Unmarked, but is most likely of German origin.

SOLD#2412 Dresden Tea SetSOLD

Three pieces -- Tea Pot, Sugar, and Creamer.  I originally thought this probably also had a larger coffee pot at one time, but apparently not.  I found this exact tea set (same body style, size, proportion -- only the florals are different) on page 74 of the Harran book on Dresden Porcelain Studios.  The mark on that set as well as this one is that of the Richard Klemm Decorating Studio, in business from 1869-1949 in Dresden, Germany.  This particular mark has been dated to the years of c.1891-1914 (Source: Dresden Porcelain Studios by Harran, page 53.)  It is, of course, all hand painted and trimmed in gold.  Scalloped necks and bases, wide handles.  Very little, if any, wear -- possibly some slight wear of gold on handles and finials, as would be expected from normal use.  It appears to be in excellent to perfect condition, especially for its age -- the pictures speak for themselves.  A wonderful old treasure!!

Dresden Tea Set Richard Klemm Studio

Tea Pot is approximately 5" tall to highest point of neck rim and  6 1/4" tall to top of finial on lid x approximately 9 1/4" wide at outer tips of spout and handle.  Sugar is 4" tall to neck and 5 3/4" to top of finial on lid x approximately 6" wide at outer tips of handles.   Creamer is 4" tall at the spout x approximately 4 3/4" wide.  SOLD#2306 Hand Painted Tea SetSOLD

Unmarked.  Possibly whiteware from Germany and then painted by an American china painter.  It is signed Alice Meyers She did a beautiful job with the soft lavender background and florals with touches of yellow and green.  The heavy gold trim is wonderful.  Notice the beautiful body lines in all three pieces.  The teapot is 5 1/2" tall to the top of the neck.  Sugar is approximately 2" tall x 3 1/4" wide.  Creamer is approximately 2 7/8" to highest point of spout.  Excellent to perfect condition.  I find nothing wrong with this set and believe it to be at least back to the 1950's which was a popular era for china painting in America.

SOLD#2082 German Chocolate PotSOLD

By C. Tielsch in Altwasser Silesia Germany.  Excellent condition.  Beautiful transfer roses on a rich chocolate background.  This mark was registered in the German Trademark of Registry in 1875 and appears to have been used up until c.1934.   According to references, Germany was known to have added its country name to products as early as 1885.  It is 8 3/4" tall to top of finial.

SOLD#2323 Old Chocolate CupSOLD

Unmarked, but possibly German.  Beautiful pink and white.  Florals are transfer with hand painted finishing.  Cup is 3" tall and scalloped saucer is 5 3/8" diameter.  NOT PERFECT.  The saucer has a spider crack on the back (see picture), but it does not come through to the front.  On the cup, the very tip end of the flourish at the top of the handle is gone (see picture).  It is priced accordingly.  Still a great collector's cup and a good buy!!

SOLD#2585 German TeacupsSOLD

"Echt Kobalt" is apparently the pattern name (see the mark).  The mark indicates these are from the Reichenbach Porcelain Factory of Reichenbach, Thuringia, Germany.  The GDR part of the mark is for "German Democratic Republic" (East Germany) which was established in 1949 and ended in 1990.  Based on that, these cups were made no earlier than 1949 and possibly as late as 1977 when the company put a different mark into use (Source:  Directory of European Porcelain by Danckert, page 383).  The footed teacups are 1 12" tall x 3" across top opening.  Saucers are 4 1/4" diameter.  Notice the heavy gold decoration on the cobalt blue background, as well as the delicate florals in the dainty rococo style cartouches.  These are real beauties and in excellent to perfect condition.
