#2671 Schwarzenhammer Germany Pair Figural Plates

This mark is apparently for Schumann & Schreider of Schwarzenhammer, Bavaria, Germany, and was used sometime after 1905 until the present day (Source Marks on German, Bohemian, and Austrian Porcelain, by Rontgen, page 192).  Where in those years these plates fall is unknown.  However, my guess would be mid-20th century.  Gorgeous cranberry reticulated rims surrounding romantic figural scenes in transfer.  There is a signature of Oliver on the plates -- possibly an artist who added some hand finishing colors to the transfers. 10 3/8" diameter.  Excellent condition.  Beautiful decorative plates!!! $250 pair, March 2006
